The Buffalo International Jewish Film Festival embarks on its 24th annual offering of Jewish content films. This year’s selections are uniquely outstanding, including an Academy Award winner and many other highly acclaimed productions.

In keeping with the Festival Committee’s charge to obtain quality films which portray Jewish life and culture in all its diversity, consider the following: a developmentally disabled boy joyously anticipates his planned Bar Mitzvah; two teachers, - one a Muslim, the other Orthodox Jewish, - confront tradition and social pressure for arranged marriages; despite persecution, Russian Jews courageously demand rights under an oppressive regime; a Dutch Jew joins the Resistance during Nazi occupation and infiltrates the enemy. And how about a roving mobile kosherizing squad? From the ethnic neighborhoods of Brooklyn to the Negev desert frontier, we invite you to come and experience the Jewish condition in its varied forms.

As one of the oldest annual festivals of its kind, the Buffalo International Jewish Film Festival thanks the community for its love of excellent films and its longstanding support. With your dedicated patronage, our Festival will continue to be the noteworthy cultural event that it has become.
